Chapter 9 Thoughts

In chapter nine of Educational Technology in Action, M. D. Roblyer states the following as one of the benefits of adding multimedia/hypermedia materials to education:

Variety of channels for communicating information - Supplementing text-based information with pictures, video, and sound captures students’ attention; using multiple channels makes it more likely they will understand and remember
concepts.

I totally agree with this because most students learn better when media is presented with the information. I can attest to this because, as a student, I understand concepts and ideas better if I can see it. To just hear/read about something doesn’t do it for me; I have to read at least twice to fully grasp the concept. What do you think about adding multimedia/hypermedia materials to education?
